EMD has been working with the City of Scottsdale (COS) for 12 months on the demonstration of emDRIVE®.

As one of the earliest customers for emDRIVE®, COS has been extremely supportive of EMD's development efforts. Through the partnership with COS, EMD has been able to prove the efficacy and reliability of emDRIVE® in one the harshest thermal environments in the U.S. The vehicle has operated on a daily basis for nearly a year.

EMD teamed with the City of New Rochelle (CNR) to complete the testing and validation of a hybrid electric full size city garbage truck. The truck is a 2003 Mack and is used for every day refuse collection and snow removal. EMD has worked with CNR and its employees to set up training on the usage and maintenance of this vehicle. Although EMD did not provide the hybrid propulsion system, it was able to develop a program that has kept the vehicle on the road from 2008 to present.

EMD's team has had extensive experience in the refuse collection industry with trucks that have GVW's ranging from 26,000 to 75,000lbs.
